Married 60 years: Jack and Carolyn Sill

Jack and Carolyn Sill will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday. They were married July 23, 1960 at Augusta Christian Church by the Rev. K. K. Cunningham.

Jack is the son of the late Ed and Georgia Sill of Loraine, and Carolyn is the daughter of the late Rex and Ruth Van Horn of Augusta.

They have two sons, Greg (Jennifer) and Kevin; three grandsons, Andy (Ashley), Aaron (Megan Eyler) and Adam; one granddaughter, Piper; and one great-grandson, Emmett.

Jack started working at Electric Wheel, then ran a backhoe, drove a truck and was a mechanic before retiring in 2015. He served in the Army Engineers from 1960-1962 and went on the 52nd Honor Flight in April 2019. He enjoys participating in car events with his 1950 Ford truck.

Carolyn began working at P.A.M. Printers and Publishers in August 1962 as a linotype operator. She is now head of composition.

Before COVID-19 they attended Faith Journey Church where she has played the organ and keyboard for 29 years.
