QUINCY -- Three Quincy auto dealerships are pledging to make a donation for each vehicle sold to the United Way of Adams County 2020 campaign.

The participating dealerships -- Poage Auto Plaza, Kunes Country and Ron Snider Auto Sales -- began their pledge starting Friday, July 31.

"Our campaign has always been about the community stepping up to help those we serve every day here in Adams County," United Way campaign chairman Philip Krupps said. "By generously agreeing to partner with United Way this year, these auto dealerships will directly make an impact in our community."

The dealerships' commitment runs through November, supporting the United Way "Starts With You" campaign.

The official campaign kickoff is a virtual event this year, debuting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, on the United Way of Adams County Facebook page and YouTube channel.

"This is going to be a critical year for United Way, as recent events have required us to find new ways to communicate our message," United Way of Adams County Executive Director Jeremy Wingerter said. "Despite our challenges, the needs of our community remain, and in these uncertain times we hope Quincy and Adams County join us in helping to provide the funding needed for the children and families we serve every day."
