Palmyra falls short to Macon in district title game

MACON, Mo. — Palmyra was unable to withstand the Macon offensive attack during the Class 3 District 6 baseball championship game on Tuesday, falling to the Tigers 17-5.
Macon scored three runs in the top of the first inning and added five more in the second to take a 8-0 lead.
Palmyra got some new life with a five-run bottom of the second inning, but the Tigers put the game away with a eight-run fourth.
Panthers two-hole hitter Raeson Miller went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and a run.
Palmyra second baseman Rylan Compton went 2-for-3, while left fielder Ty Haskins went 1-for-2 with a double, run and two RBIs.
Miller got the start on the mound and went 1.1 innings, with Horstmeier pitching two innings in relief and Max Heimer pitching 1.2 innings in relief.
Palmyra finishes its season with a 21-9 record and will graduate Compton, Miller, Haskins, Kevin Gosney, Rafe Jones and Brodie Webb.
