Patricia “Pat” Ann Lawrence, 93, of Quincy, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones at Sunset Home in Quincy, IL.
Patricia was born May 27, 1932, in Downers Grove, IL to James and Eleanora (Sauer) Straka. She graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1950. She was married to Henry F. Lawrence on April 19, 1952, and from this union, five children were born. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2009.
Pat worked as a secretary to William McCleery Sr. and later for Winters Insurance Group. She retired in 2011.
Most of all, Pat enjoyed her family and grand and great-grandchildren. She had many friends and was a member and involved at Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a former president of Blessed Sacrament Council of Catholic Women, Ladies of Charity, Sacred Heart League, and at one time was President of the Quincy Deanery Council of Catholic Women, and was also active as a member of Altrusa. She was honored with the Woman of Distinction Award on June 9, 2012 in Springfield, Illinois, by the bishop. She took many trips and especially enjoyed working in the kitchen, where she was known for baking cinnamon rolls, coffee cakes, sugar cookies, and many other family favorites.
Survivors include her five children, Carol Bier (James), James Lawrence, Mark Lawrence (Christina), Debra Yakle, and Scott Lawrence; eight grandchildren, Christopher Chisholm (Tammy), Jason Chisholm (Nicki), Brandon Chisholm (Barbi), Ryan Lawrence (Laura), Amanda Lawrence, Adam Azotea (Allison), Kaitie Lish (Zac), and Nick Lawrence; four step grandchildren, Jake Fenton, Seth Fenton, Matthew Allison, and Ben Allison; fourteen great-grandchildren, Dylan Chisholm, Drew Chisholm, Aiden Chisholm, Landen Chisholm, Logan Chisholm, Kylan Chisholm, Austin Lawrence, Alex Lawrence, Eddie Lawrence, Oliver Lawrence, Zoey Lish, Zane Lish, Karly Lish, and Kamryn Lish; one brother, Donald Straka (Carleine); and several nieces and cousins.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one niece, Shelley Roland; and her aunt, Vera Sauer.
Friends and Family are invited to a visitation that will be Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church in Quincy, IL. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am with Fr. Bob Barko officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Quincy, IL. O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home is handling the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Chisholm, Jason Chisholm, Brandon Chisholm, Adam Azotea, Rylan Lawrence, and Nick Lawrence.
