Priscilla Faye Slater, age 70, of Quincy, IL passed away on May 31, 2026 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. Born on May 3, 1956, in Quincy, IL, Priscilla was the daughter of Eldred and Dorothy Post. Priscilla married David R. Slater on May 19, 1984. Together they built a family and shared many years of love and memories. David preceded her in death February 21, 2022.

Priscilla dedicated many years of service to the Illinois Veterans Home, where she worked in Medical Records before retiring. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout her career.

Priscilla was known for her kind and generous heart. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who always put the needs of others before her own. She loved fiercely and worked hard. Her compassion, strength, and selfless nature left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She found great joy in cooking for those she loved, celebrating holidays with family, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were among the greatest blessings in her life.

Priscilla is survived by; her children, Mendi Slater, Christopher (Angie) Schmitt, David Slater, Stacey (Brandy) Slater, Kayla (Matt) Hagerbaumer, and Kelsie (Seth) Reed; grandchildren, Bentley Schmitt, Ethan, Logan, Livia, Landen, Kylie, Kaitlynn, and Elizabeth Slater, Gavin Walker, Avery and Adison Hagerbaumer, Audriana, Aspen, Imersyn, and Elijah Miller, and Cohen and Shirley Reed; and her siblings, Patricia Heck, Jay (Debbie) Post, Pansy (Michael) Knight.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, David.

Priscilla’s family will forever cherish the love, guidance, and countless memories she leaves behind. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love will continue through the family she adored.

Cremation rights have been accorded. Visitation with family and friends will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 12-1:00 pm at St. James Lutheran Church, 900 S. 17th St., Quincy, IL. Funeral will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. Memorials are suggested to the family in c/o Niebur Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be left to the family at www.nieburfh.com.
