Corey Eugene Runyon, 51, of Quincy, Il passed away at 2:10 PM, Monday, June 8, 2026, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Corey was born March 25, 1975, in Canton, IL, to Charles Runyon and Patricia (Archdale) Runyon. Corey spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver, a profession he truly loved until an injury ended his driving career. He later joined the Quincy Herald-Whig, where he worked for fourteen years in a variety of roles. Corey’s greatest joys were his children, Ashton Runyon, Shannon Runyon, Jacob Bundy and Marcus Gilbert. Corey loved fishing, spending time outdoors, and sitting around a good campfire. He especially enjoyed his mother’s Rice Krispies Treats. He will be remembered for his love of family and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

Corey is survived by his children, Ashton (Megan Doyle) Runyon of Augusta, IL, Shannon Runyon of Augusta, IL, Jacob Bundy of Bowen IL, and Marcus Gilbert of Quincy IL; his mother, Patricia Runyon of Johnston City, IL; his fiancée, Heather Crouch of Quincy, IL; two sisters, Marcia Toliver of Carterville, IL, and Becky LaMaster of Herrin, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded by his father and grandparents.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Memorials may be directed to the family of Corey Runyon. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is assisting the family with arrangements.
