Lynn Loos, age 88, of Baylis, Illinois passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026. She was born to E. Don & Dorothy (Christ) Skinner on June 24, 1938 in Quincy, Illinois. One March 1, 1968, she married Dale Loos, Sr. in Quincy, Illinois. He passed on October 14, 2020.
Lynn grew up in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School. She attended two years at Augustana College and two years at Western Illinois University receiving a BS in Education. She was first an accountant in Rock Island for American Air Filter, then married Dale and moved to Adams County where she became partner and bookkeeper working alongside her husband on the farm . She later worked at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, Illinois, and then PACT Head Start in Mt. Sterling. Lynn finished her working career at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a claim processor.
Lynn loved being on the farm and loved to travel world wide with the Super Cross Seed Corn trips. Her and her daughter loved to do crafts. She was an exceptional cook, always feeding whomever worked on the farm or just stopped in. Lynn was an avid reader, always had advice for her children and wasn’t afraid to speak her spicy mind. She was a former board member of the ABS Cooperative and was a 20 plus year Breast Cancer survivor.
Survivors include children, Michelle Anne Kindle of rural Beverly, Kristin K. Carrigan (Jerome) of Chickapee, MA, Donald R. Loos of rural Beverly, IL, Dale R. Loos Jr. of Quincy, IL; stepchildren, Gregory D. Loos (Phyllis) of Eldon, MO, Howard C. Loos (Sheila) of Eldon, MO; grandchildren, Jeremy Kindle (Kirsten Anderson), Marissa (Andy) Harbison, Joshua Carrigan, Justin (Sonny) Carrigan, Victoria (Matt) Crouher, Trevor Loos (Shannon Healie), Tyler (Hailey Triska) Loos, Steven Loos, Joanna (David) Hoskins, Alexander Loos, Tory Tripp, Melani (Kevin) Dubya, Joseph Loos, Shannon Celeste, Hannah Loos (Jarman); numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert A. (Linda) Skinner of Quincy, IL; a sister-in-law, Sandy Loos of Quincy, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son-in-law, Robert L. Kindle in 2004.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Mound Prairie Cemetery in Beverly, IL . Memorials may be made to Mound Prairie Cemetery or Blessing Hospice.
