Diann Kathleen Hechler of Quincy, Illinois (formerly of Keokuk, Iowa) passed away peacefully Saturday evening August 1, 2026 at Sunset Nursing Home Quincy after a brief illness.

She was born March 2, 1958, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Keokuk to Shirley (Keim) Hechler and Ralph W. Hechler of Keokuk who both preceded her in death. She is survived by her three siblings Debby (Hechler) Stotts, daughter Olivia (Stotts) Reed and husband Landon, great nephew Beau Reed; daughter Kara (Stotts) Bowles and husband Cooper, great nieces Leyton Bowles and Aubrey Bowles; Dale (Ann) Hechler, sons Charles Hechler and Samuel Hechler; Doug (Tina) Hechler, son Mark Savage and fiancée Desiree Schueller, son Nick (Leslie) Savage, great nephew Graham and great niece Eleanor; and son Chase (Jessica) Hechler.

Diann’s parents were advocates and supporters of Catholic education in Keokuk, and she graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School Keokuk in 1976. Her professional career consisted of working in the finance and banking industry.

She loved her family, especially her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew. She also loved spending time with her extended family which included the Lambert, Petty, Ewers, and McNally families for holidays, vacations, and get-togethers. She was a big Iowa Hawkeye fan, but an even bigger St. Louis Cardinal fan.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Father Hai Dinh officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2 p.m., Saturday, October 3 at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time.
