QU Touchdown Club continues annual campaign

QUINCY – As QU football continues to build momentum on the field, a group of supporters is working behind the scenes to help strengthen the program for its current and future players.

The Hawks’ Touchdown Club was formed to provide the resources necessary to enable QU football to compete nationally on the field and in the classroom.

While it was in place before current head football coach Jason Killday came to Quincy in 2024, under his auspice it has grown and continues to break records.

“It’s our biggest fundraiser,” Killday, who is entering his third year as QU’s head football coach, said. “Every dollar that goes into (the TD Club) goes to our players.”

Pointing out that the QU Athletic Department “gives us everything that we need,” such as paying for team travel and uniforms, the donations help provide “the extra stuff, the wants,” Killday said.

He noted that monies donated have helped provide Nike cleats and glasses, while current donations will help go toward purchasing protein drinks for the players, which he estimated to cost $20,000. It can also help provide an “extra sandwich on the road” to each player – all things that help make the Division II football experience more enjoyable to the team.

Joining the club also benefits the donors, too.

There are six different packages, ranging from the Hall of Fame package to the 2nd Team All-Conference Package, each package has its own special benefits. Full explanations of each package and its cost can be found by going to the QU football page on the school’s website at www.quhawks.com or Google Quincy University Touchdown Club.

Your donation will determine which package you qualify for. Season tickets can also be purchased through the Touchdown Booster Club, beginning with the All-Region Package, which includes two chair-back season tickets, a $150 value and a season home game parking pass.

“Guaranteed parking is especially nice,” the head coach said.

In his July newsletter sent to alumni, players, parents, supporters and friends of the QU football program, Killday noted that the momentum for this year’s campaign has been outstanding. He also spoke about the season ticket packages.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to make this a record-setting year for TD Club membership and continue building an incredible gameday experience for our football family,” Killday stated in the newsletter.

It should be noted that one of the most popular membership benefits is filling up quickly — Sycamore Street parking spaces are becoming scarce, and the reserved chairback seating section is filling up fast. Those interested in securing either for the season, are encouraged by Killday to act soon, as those opportunities are limited. It is asked that all those wanting to purchase those tickets do so by Aug.10, according to the newsletter.

The season ticket benefits are just the latest way to show support for the program and Club, which continues to grow each year.

As the TD Club’s page states, the club helps the program grow through fundraising and organizational efforts, making it one of the finest Division II programs anywhere. Killday reiterated that statement and is pleased with the growth the club has made in the past three years.

As of early Thursday afternoon, there have been 36 donors to this year’s campaign, which began on, and a total of $29,851 has been raised. The annual campaign, which began on June 15, runs through Dec. 1.

The donor affiliations have been broken down by the following: Parents, 58 percent; alumni, 28 percent; both students and friends, 10 percent; and faculty/staff, 4 percent.
