Maine Street closure will see traffic detoured south

QUINCY — Traffic coming into Quincy from Memorial Bridge will have a small detour starting Tuesday due to planned water service work.

Starting at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the eastbound lanes of Maine Street will be closed between Third and Fourth streets to allow for multiple water service installations.

Traffic coming off Memorial Bridge will be detoured south on Third Street to York Street, then east to Fourth Street before heading back north.

The westbound lanes of Maine Street will remain open, allowing traffic to turn left off of Fourth Street onto Maine or off of Maine onto Fourth Street or Third Street.

Weather permitting, this work is expected to wrap up by 3 p.m. on Friday.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes when possible and to drive carefully near any workzone.
