Liberty runs into Triopia roadblock in sectional semifinals

CONCORD, Ill. — The home cooking was good for Triopia.
The Trojans seized control early to defeat Liberty 11-0 in the Class 1A Concord Regional semifinal game on Tuesday, ending the Eagles season after run-ruling them in the sixth inning.
Triopia starting pitcher Mylee Tracy was dominant early on, striking out eight of the first nine Liberty batters. The Eagles were not able to square up one of her rise balls until Anna Dietrich broke up her no-hitter in the fourth inning.
Mylee Tracy earned the win after pitching a six-inning shutout with 14 strikeouts, while allowing just three hits and no walks. At the plate, she went 3-for-3 with a walk, run and two RBIs.
Trojans leadoff batter Addilynn Tracy went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two walks, two RBIs and three runs, while shortstop Lucie Dion went 2-for-5 with a run and four RBIs.
Liberty starting pitcher Chandler John went six innings with three strikeouts in a losing effort, while allowing 14 hits, five walks and five earned runs.
Dietrich went 2-for-3, while Eagles shortstop Ava Heming went 1-for-3.
Liberty finishes the 2026 season with a 20-4 record, the second straight season Liberty has won 20-plus games and a regional championship.
Triopia (27-8) will face Illini Bluffs (20-6) in the Class 1A Concord Sectional championship game at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
