Married 50 Years: Gerald and Peggy Koetters

Gerald and Peggy Koetters of Coatsburg, IL, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 6, 2026, with a Mass at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Quincy, IL, at 4:30 p.m.

To celebrate their anniversary, they are having an evening reception from 6 pm to midnight at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Quincy. All family and friends are invited. The couple requests no gifts.

Mr. and Mrs. Koetters were married on May 1, 1976, at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Quincy. Mr. Koetters is the son of the late Paul and Martha (Blickhan) Koetters. Mrs. Koetters is the daughter of the late Virgil and Lukie (Dieker) Bange.

They are the parents of five children: Lucy (Ty) Crain, Matthew (Michelle) Koetters, Nathan (Ashley) Koetters, Nicholas (Kelly) Koetters, and Brittany (Justin) Hutchings.

Gerald retired from Prince Mineral in 2019 and also farms. Peggy retired from Adams Electric Cooperative in 2021.

Gerald belongs to the Holy Name Society at St. Francis, volunteers at Austin’s Army, is a lector, and serves at the funeral mass at the church. He is also a member of the Coatsburg Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Adams County Farm Bureau.

Peggy belongs to the Ladies Altar Society at St. France, serves as a communion minister, and helps at Coatsburg Lions Club events.

Both Gerald and Peggy are Good Samaritan Home Eucharistic Ministers.

Gerald and Peggy enjoy traveling and attending their 14 grandchildren’s activities. Their grandchildren are Jackson and Carson Crain; Paul, Noah, Luke, Henry, Garrett, and Caleb Koetters; Charles and Louis Koetters; Kennedy and Payton Koetters; and Dominic and Parker Hutchings.
