Two face charges in HPD drug, firearms investigation

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Two Hannibal men face charges in connection with an investigation by the Hannibal Police Department into suspected drug distribution and illegal firearm activity.

Hannibal officers executed a search warrant Friday at a residence near Highway W and Munger Lane. Officers recovered methamphetamine, controlled pills and three firearms, including one confirmed stolen.

Arrested were Cecil L. Williams, 52, and Santana C. Simmons, 40, both of Hannibal, on charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of controlled substances and endangering the welfare of a child.

Both were placed on 24-hour holds at the Marion County Jail. Warrants later issued through the 10th Judicial Circuit of Marion County set bond at $100,000 cash only for Williams and $50,000 cash only for Simmons.

The investigation was assisted by the NEMO Task Force and the Marion County Children’s Division.
