September trials set for two drug cases following Tuesday arraignments

QUINCY — A Quincy woman was arraigned Tuesday on charges of possession and distribution of methamphetamine following a June 11 arrest.

Katie C. Temple, 43, was in court in front of Judge Tad Brenner after an Adams County grand jury indicted her on two separate Class X felonies.

The grand jury returned indictments on one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver between 100 and 400 grams, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of up to 50 years in prison. The second charge, possession of between 400 and 900 grams, has a penalty of up to 40 years.

Both counts carry with them mandatory prison time, so any conviction or plea on these charges would require time in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Temple, along with Todd Boyd, 60, also of Quincy, were arrested when members of the West Central Illinois Task Force executed a search warrant on a residence in the 1000 block of North 20th Street.

Boyd faces the same charges and penalties following his own arraignment earlier Tuesday morning.

Temple was out of jail at the time of the arrest on a conditional discharge in a misdemeanor case from 2025 where she pleaded guilty to one count of theft under $500. A petition to revoke the discharge in that case was filed and will run along with the new felony charges.

The cases against both Temple and Boyd were set for the September jury docket.
