Blessing security coordinator earns third national certification

QUINCY — Steve Billington, security systems coordinator at Blessing Hospital, has earned a national certification focused on the secure implementation and management of artificial intelligence technologies.

Billington received the SecAI+ certification from the Computing Technology Industry Association, known as CompTIA, which the organization describes as the largest vendor-neutral technology credentialing group in the world, having awarded more than 3.6 million certifications to technology professionals globally. The credential is designed to help security professionals evaluate emerging AI tools, protect sensitive data, and manage cybersecurity risks as healthcare organizations increasingly adopt AI-driven technology.

The certification is Billington’s third from CompTIA; he also holds the organization’s Security+ and Network+ certifications and is pursuing two additional CompTIA credentials. He is also a Certified Health and Safety Officer through the International Board of Safety Professionals.

Billington joined Blessing in 2020 as an emergency center security officer before moving into his current role as security systems coordinator in 2023. He previously worked in law enforcement and security for other organizations before joining Blessing Health System.
