Quincy Public Schools Foundation names longtime trustee to emeritus status

QUINCY — The Quincy Public Schools Foundation has named Dr. George Crickard III as Trustee Emeritus, recognizing his 24 years of service on the foundation’s board.

Crickard served as a trustee-at-large for the foundation, which supports educational programs, scholarships, and classroom initiatives for Quincy Public Schools students and educators. Throughout his tenure, he provided leadership and support for the foundation’s mission and served as an advocate for public education in the community, according to the foundation.

“Dr. Crickard’s commitment to Quincy Public Schools and the Foundation has left a meaningful legacy,” Heidi Lanier, the foundation’s executive director, said in a statement. “His leadership, generosity of spirit, and dedication to student success have strengthened our organization and helped advance opportunities for countless students.”

The Trustee Emeritus designation is an honorary title given to individuals whose long-term service has significantly benefited the foundation. Crickard will continue to be recognized as a member of the organization in his new role.
