QUINCY — Eleven Quincy-area Dairy Queen locations are taking part in the chain’s annual Miracle Treat Day, with proceeds from Blizzard Treat sales going to support St. Louis Children’s Hospital, according to American Dairy Queen Corporation.
At participating U.S. DQ locations, at least $1 from every Blizzard Treat sold on July 30 will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a nonprofit network that funds pediatric medical care across the country. Locally, the funds raised will benefit St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Dairy Queen’s partnership with Children’s Miracle Network spans more than four decades, during which the company says it has contributed more than $195 million to support children’s hospitals nationwide.
“Every year, Miracle Treat Day demonstrates the incredible impact that can happen when our communities come together for a sweet cause,” said Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing at American Dairy Queen Corporation. “Year after year, our fans, franchisees and partners show up to support Children’s Miracle Network to help ensure kids and families receive the care and hope they deserve.”
Hokanson said the company is working with figure skater Tara Lipinski and the barnstorming baseball team the Savannah Bananas to help promote the event this year.
International Dairy Queen Inc., based in Minneapolis, is the parent company of American Dairy Queen Corporation and Dairy Queen Canada Inc. The company oversees a system of more than 7,800 DQ restaurants in more than 20 countries and is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
