Hannibal shuts out Jefferson City in regional soccer opener

PACIFIC, Mo. — Hannibal is moving on in the Class 3 District 4 girls soccer tournament.
The Lady Pirates defeated Jefferson City 1-0 in the Class 3 District 4 quarterfinal on Wednesday afternoon.
Hannibal sophomore forward Marissa Falconer scored the game’s lone goal, off an assist from freshman midfielder Ellee Hill.
Lady Pirates freshman goalkeeper Lexi Anders and the Hannibal defense recorded her ninth shutout of the season.
Up next for Hannibal (14-7) is the Class 3 District 4 semifinal against Washington (11-11-1) at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Washington defeated Union 1-0 in their district semifinal on Wednesday night.
