Payson Seymour junior high track takes third at state

EAST PEORIA, Ill. — The Payson Seymour seventh grade boys track and field team had a good showing at the IESA state meet on Saturday, May 16.
The Indians brought home some hardware, finishing third overall at the IESA state track meet with a team score of 34.5 points.
Carrollton St. John placed first with a score of 39 points and Normal Epiphany placed second with a score of 37 points.
Parker Wiseman led the way for Payson Seymour and finished first in long jump. He also placed second in the 400-meter dash and fourth in long jump.
That was not all for Wiseman, who was the anchor for Payson Seymour’s 4×100-meter relay team. Joining Wiseman on the 4×100 team was Kade Roundcourt, Emerson Wegs and Noah Haden, which placed second.
Haden also placed fifth in the 100-meter dash and 12th in the 200-meter dash.
The Payson Seymour 4×400-meter relay team of Roundcourt, Leo Utterback, Ben Koehler and Teddy Lowery placed 16th.
