Chargers win regional semifinal over Canton

EUREKA, Ill. — Illini West opened up its baseball postseason on Wednesday, defeating Canton 7-5 in the Class 2A Eureka Regional semifinal game.
Illini West starting pitcher Cash Jones earned the win after going four innings, and also went 1-for-3 at the plate with a walk.
Wes Robertson went 1-for-2 with a dobule, three RBIs and two stolen bases.
Ethan Carlisle went 2-for-3 with a run and two stolen bases, while Holton Darbyshire went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Chargers head coach Zack Burling reached a milestone of his 100th career win.
Up next for Illini West (26-7) is the Class 2A Eureka Regional championship game at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The Chargers will play the winner of Thursday afternoon’s game between Macomb and Eureka.
