GermanFest set Friday, Saturday at South Park

QUINCY — Authentic German music, food and refreshments will be available Friday and Saturday at GermanFest.
The Sister City Commission’s free, family-friendly festival takes place 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday in South Park.
Highlights include performances by the Waterloo German Band, The Wurst Bavarian Band and Quincy’s own Heidelberg Band, which takes the stage 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday.
Beer lovers can explore some 30 domestic and specialty brews, including 16 imported German beers and four German-style offerings from Quincy Brewing Company. Festival vendors include Melton’s Kettle Korn, Expressions by Christine, Tri-State Sno Biz, Underbrink’s, Niemann’s and Hy-Vee Catering with Chuck’s Grilling.
The Kinderplatz, a dedicated kids’ area available 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, offers free activities, crafts, yard games and prizes.
Parking will be available at Hy-Vee on Harrison, with shuttle service provided to the park.
