Second suspect arrested in reported Moorman Park battery investigation

QUINCY — A second suspect in the reported battery in Moorman Park on June 4 was arrested after surrendering to law enforcement.

The Quincy Police Department reported on Thursday that the second juvenile turned himself in at QPD headquarters. Deput Chief Mike Tyler reported at the Quincy Park Board Wednesday evening that a first juvenile suspect was arrested on Monday.

Both juvenile suspects were processed and released to the custody of their respective parents after consultation with the Adams County Probation Department. Both cases will be handled through regular court proceedings as determined by the Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office and the probation department.

QPD reports that two 18-year-old male victims have been released from Blessing Hospital following the incident, but no further information on their condition will be provided to respect victim/patient privacy. The investigation remains open and ongoing with addition arrests being possible, according to authorities.
