Women in Agriculture Workshop set for Sept. 9 in Ewing

EWING — University of Missouri Extension will host its 2026 Women in Agriculture Workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 9, beginning at 9 a.m. at First Baptist Church, offering a full day of presentations on agricultural issues, farm management, and long-term planning.
The workshop will feature five speakers covering a range of topics. Nick Wesslak of MU Extension will discuss the Missouri Migratory Insect Pest Monitoring Network, while Dr. Craig Payne, also with MU Extension, will address Theileria orientalis, a tick-borne disease affecting beef cattle. Spencer Tuma of the Missouri Farm Bureau will speak on the outlook for agricultural policy heading into 2026 and beyond, and MU Extension’s Mary Sobba will cover agricultural markets and decision-making. Darla Campbell, also of MU Extension, will present on estate planning basics.
The event is free to attend, and a sponsored lunch will be provided. The workshop will be offered both in person and virtually; those interested in attending remotely should contact the Lewis County Extension Office for a Zoom link.
